OMRON (Master's thesis)

I've done my master's thesis for OMRON. In this project, we've research how OMRON can integrate AI into their app and we've made a design of what that should look like. We have done this by analysing the company in a SWOT analysis and sending out a questionnaire to see if it would be profitable, and we have looked into how AI can help in app design and checking if medical data are healthy or not.

Lets Flip the City

People's knowledge about biodiversity is decreasing and that is a problem. Biodiversity is extremely important, and for Lets Flip the City we have done research about how we can increase the knowledge of biodiversity that Dutch childeren have.

Terre des Hommes

As a part of the cyber safety campaign of Terre des Hommes we have designed an activity for parents to learn about how they can help their kids with and teach their kids about online safety.

CCHH

For CCHH we have designed and built a machine that is able to tell the difference between different types of wood based on density and color as a part of a wood-sorting system.

Recycling bank

In this project we have helped set up the Recycling bank at Calandlyceum by thinking of things the organisation can do to make turning plastic in profitable for the consumer.

Amsterdam Light Festival

For the Amsterdam Light Festival we had to design and make a garland with light. We made a garland about the discovery of electricity by Thomas Edison.

Trash in the City

For this project, we had to come up with a way how we could reduce trash in cities. We focussed particularly on cigarette butts, and how we could prevent them from ending up on the streets or on the floors at festivals.

Organising the Workshop

For this project, we made a plan on how to organise the workshop at the Calandlyceum Technasium classroom, as it was pretty unorganised and filthy.

Artcadia

In eighty years, we'll have a lot more people. For this project, it was our task to try and come up with a solution for one of the problems that comes with so many people.

IBM

IBM tasked us to design and build a protoype of a robot that could help in healthcare. For this we got to use some of the IBM API's and a Raspberry Pi.

NEMO SALL

Schools As Living Labs. For this project, we could choose a problem in any field, and try to find a solution to that problem. We tried to find a solution for supermarkets throwing perfectly fine food away.

Decathlon

For our first actual project, we had to design a product that you could use in or around water. We thought of a phone case that acts as a floatation device when it falls into the water, saving the phone.

Eureka Cup

For this project, we had to design something that would make unsafe spots in the city feel more safe.

Square 40/45

Square 40/45 is a square in Amsterdam, that has a market which always leaves tons of rubbish after the market is over. We had to think of a way to keep it clean, but COVID-19 interrupted it and we couldn't continue the project.

A project that binds us

This project was done by all people in the school that followed Research & Design. We had to write a research or design report about something related to COVID-19. All the reports were then bundled into a book.
